Insight Global Damage Investigator in Edinburg, Virginia

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Damage Investigator to join one of our telecommunication clients in a long-term contract opportunity supporting the Ashland market. This role will be in support of a large market expansion for residential fiber deployment with a telecom client. In this role you will be responsible for the investigation of utility damages that take place on site by in house field construction and engineering crews as well as contracted vendors supporting their work. Day to day responsibilities to include -

  • Report to the site when a crew has reported damage in order to determine which party is at fault.

  • Travel site to site within a given market (could be across state lines depending on the footprint they will service), and document all details surrounding the damage -- create a report, filled with detailed explanation of what took place as well as photo evidence and create a report.

  • Gather with the team weekly to discuss all of the reported damages, review documentation of what took place and then make final determinations based on criteria leading up to the incident (considering factors like 811 dig laws) to vote on which party is held responsible.

The pay range for this role is between 27/hr and 35/hr based on experience

Skills and Requirements

  • Reliable and presentable personal vehicle with valid driver's license and current insurance; min BI/PD 100/300/100

  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel,

  • Investigation experience

  • Knowledge of underground utility locating

-Comfortable standing for long periods of time and ability to hold items weighing up to 50 lbs -managerial experience null
