We manufacture Steering Units and Hydraulics Motors which are used primarily in powering agricultural and construction equipment. The site is located on the Eden Prairie Campus and provides a great opportunity to gain creditable union plant experience while getting high-level exposure to the Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations leaders. The Sr. Operations Manager will provide leadership in manufacturing production and process development for the departments in the facility. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager. The Sr. Operations Manager leads a team of operations manager(s), supervisors, and manufacturing engineers to ensure that safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee relations expectations are met. Job Responsibilities Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to, the following. Regularly communicate and model the Danfoss Behaviors such that these cultural attributes are incorporated throughout the organization. Ensure safe working conditions to minimize employee risk of injury and drive an engaged safety culture. Serve as an active member of the Plant Leadership Team, providing input for strategy, direction & continuous improvement by leveraging lean tools, Danfoss Business System, and Danfoss leadership model. Develop strategic manufacturing plans in compliance with Eden Prairie's core/non-core strategy and the Business Unit growth initiatives Manage, guide, direct, and develop team with challenging assignments to accomplish safety, quality, delivery, cost, and Business Unit objectives. Define competencies and goals required for successful performance and ensure that employees receive appropriate motivation, recognition, and development opportunities for career growth. Establish and maintain an environment conducive to continuous improvement in manufacturing; recommend alternatives for improving production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions. Identify and assess new technology areas for development. Consider and execute alternative approaches that might be required to adapt to changing technology or organizational Background & Skills Required (Basic) Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
