Position will be based in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Chicago area, or Evansville IN. Job Summary: The Solution Architect is responsible for leading project and portfolio level architecture activities. Understanding integrations of various applications for LOB technologies (inhouse and 3rd party). Creating, maintaining, and owning architectural design blueprints for various capabilities. Owning architectural impact assessments. Conducting design reviews with IT & business and stakeholders for projects. Partner with project teams and vendors to ensure the solution comply with the designed architecture. Leads the architecture for current business solutions and future business needs. Provides technical leadership for integration projects and assists in the alignment of business activities. Ensures that enterprise architecture standards, policies, and procedures are enacted uniformly across application development. Key Accountabilities: Serve as the Solution integration architect on a given Software Development Life Cycle project and vendor work, developing, maintaining, and reviewing architecture throughout the project. May include leading proof-of-technology activities. Provide leadership in research, development and adherence to application standards and patterns, strategy for solutions, integrations, and infrastructure. Drive adherence to existing and evolving security requirements in partnership with CISO team to ensure a robust and secure environment for which to deploy applications. Serve as a Lead Architect on a project team (including users, developers and/or vendors) to plan, coordinate, analyze, design, review and implement application systems and/or enhancements to existing systems to meet current and future needs. Prepare and catalog documentation such as End to End logical flow, physical diagrams, ICD, application flow charts, and other artifacts as required. Participate in the design review and support the overall Enterprise Architecture Management process; as well as be a member of the Architecture Review Board. Ensure vendor work is accurately and thoroughly reviewed and meets all applicable architecture s andards; identify gaps and/or opportunities in work to meet long term corporate goals. Support pre-project efforts in terms of working with the user team or vendor during meetings/presentations, crafting conceptual solutions, assisting with time estimates, and documenting designs. Provide technical expertise/coaching for others; facilitate the development and provide direction on integration design patterns around services and interfaces; work hands-on often with delivery teams; and monitor application architecture related to other areas of IT, the business community, and outside vendors to ensure the relevance of architecture to meet business needs. Collaborate and contribute to the creation, deployment and maintenance of Solutions Architecture best practices and standards. Key Competencies: Technical - Experience with common web connectivity and integration standards/protocols such as XML, SOAP, REST, JSON. Experience with solutions including API design, API management, messaging patterns, and application development best practices. The candidate should understand Continuous Integration (CICD), deployment and operations strategies for both Cloud and on-Premises hosted integration solutions. Experience with software development lifecycle, messaging patterns, endpoint security, interfaces with internal and external applications. Experience with integration of various 3rd party technologies (example SalesForce, MuleSoft, Informatica, SAS) Communication - Applies active listening skills and skillful use of questions to understand the situation, needs and desired outcomes. Effectively shares information and ideas, displaying self-awareness and self-management. Understands who will be affected by an issue or change and ensures all stakeholders and kept informed. Exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, as well as excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Qualifications and Education Requirements: 8+ years' experience in technology organization with 5+ years as solution integration architect. Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field of study. Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks. Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics. Strong leadership and mentoring skills, including team leadership and work organization/coordination. Able to work effectively with clients to document requirements by conducting interviews and facilitating JAD sessions.
