The Director of Global Manufacturing Manufacturing Excellence supports the development and deployment of Tennant's enterprise-wide Manufacturing Excellence strategy. This individual defines and develops action plans to achieve improvements, and documenting Tennant wide best practices. In addition, this individual will provide expert level advice and guidance on Manufacturing topics along with providing coaching, training, and/or mentoring to the plants and/or functional groups on best in class tools and philosophy. This position is posted out of our headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. This position could alternatively be based out of our manufacturing facilties in Louisville, KY or Holland, MI. Responsibilties Plan, facilitate, and execute cross-site and/or cross-functional capacity planning. Lead and/or participate in events with various manufacturing and/or business groups to ensure adoption and implementation of Tennant manufacturing strategy. Deliver value by both leading and supporting the focused execution of cross business unit optimization efforts. Build capability in others through coaching and mentoring projects leaders and teams. Coach, mentor, train, and establish a culture of Continuous Improvement to streamline manufacturing and/or business processes to achieve business goals and objectives. Develop and provide counsel on critical make versus buy decisions. Develop and deploy best practices throughout the organization. Work to continuously improve Manufacturing excellence through targeted improvements on Manufacturing engineering, automation and leading technology adoption to address business objectives Lead and/or participate on project teams to evaluate, recommend, and implement new, innovative technologies, equipment, and/or processes to improve operational performance. Function as a liaison to global manufacturing leaders. Lead a team of global experts focused on deploying best practices. Required Experience and Education: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering related discipline. 10+ years Manufacturing experience; prefer 3+ years in a multi-site, manufacturing environment. Experience and excellent understanding of ISO9000 management. Strong analytical and project management skills. Prefer previous experience with ERP/MRP systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar.
