As an Actuarial Consultant, you will join an elite team committed to changing health care through outstanding service and valuable products. You will perform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling to identify statistical findings and conclusions. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform quantitative analysis of health care claims utilization and cost data

  • Lead process improvement initiatives and drive operational efficiency

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with our broader team and senior leadership teams

  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy along with attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, solid interpersonal skills, and the ability to always meet deadlines

  • Execute creative problem solving and critical thinking on the job

  • Take accountability for work within a fast paced, exciting environment

Required Qualifications:

  • On the Actuarial exam track, having passed 2 or more actuarial exams

  • 1+ years of experience working in a consultancy, actuarial or healthcare field

  • 1+ years of experience examining and interpreting data using statistical and analytical tools to derive insights and make decisions

  • 1+ years of experience demonstrating ability to communicate effectively, including written and verbal forms of communication

  • 1+ years of experience with MS Excel, including the ability to work with formulas, calculations, charts, graphs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in dealing with health care claims experience and/or Pharmacy claims experience (i.e., understanding of costs, expected claims, diagnosis codes, procedure codes, pharmacy terminology)

  • Experience with Power BI or similar programs such as Tableau

  • Experience with SAS

  • Proven analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills

  • Flexibility to manage changing priorities/requirements/deadlines

  • Willing to relocate to Minnesota

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
