SUMMARY:Responsible for performing various purchasing assignments as directed. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Develops supply sources and procures requisitioned and standard items, equipment, supplies and services. Evaluates vendors with considerations of cost, quality and reliability. Reviews documentation such as requisitions and inventory lists to plan purchases. Initiates and prepares requests for quotations, reviews proposals and competitive bids. PEOPLE MANAGER: N/A EDUCATION:High school diploma or equivalent, with course work after high school and job-related training preferred. EXPERIENCE: 2 - 3 years of experience in purchasing/materials or related field. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word. COMPETENCIES:Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to demonstrate effective customer services skills. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to demonstrate effective customer relationship management skills. Ability to apply skill sets and demonstrate proven experience developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objective. OTHER: Responsible for operating company vehicles to make deliveries as required, ensuring timely and accurate transportation of goods. Must maintain a valid driver's license and adhere to all traffic regulations and company policies. Subject to a Motor Vehicle Record to review driving history. Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments. WORKING CONDITIONS:Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
