DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Under the direct supervision of the Program Director for the Protective Services Unit, the Protective Services Case Aide provides support to the Protective Services Unit.  Assists with taking Reports of Need (RONs) for Protective Services (PS), processing and tracking assignment of RONs, and completing required notifications.  Providing telephone contact support to implement and/or ensure follow through with designated areas of consumers' care plans as directed by PS Unit Director or PS Supervisors. Additional duties include: Following-up with physicians to obtain reports and/or schedule competency evaluations. Ordering necessary formal/contract services and process service notifications in database. Reestablishing support networks for isolated consumers. Assisting with the relocation process, i.e., get MA-51's and submit referrals for Level of Care (LOC) determinations, complete housing or nursing home application, and follow-up with facilities as well as arrange emergency shelter in the interim. Assisting Protective Services Care Managers with gathering other necessary information. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Aging Case Aide 1; or Two years of public contact work, including one year in a human services program; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements: This particular position also requires possession of a current driver's license which is not under suspension. You must meet the PA residency requirement. Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
