    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The IT Support Technician I will be actively engaged in the support and maintenance of Menard, Inc. computer equipment and systems for our retail stores. As a team member in the IS Infrastructure IT Support department you will assist in troubleshooting, repairing, and preventative maintenance work on all Menard, Inc. computer equipment assets that support the operations of the company on a daily basis.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • IT Support:
  • Process issue tickets for all retail stores

  • Willingness to learn new software

  • Willingness to learn new computer skills

  • Must have working knowledge of computers and their operating systems

  • Understand mobile technologies and equipment such as smartphones and tablets

  • Repair defective computer equipment such as PCs, printer, tablets, register equipment, etc.

  • Load and install software or computer peripherals locally and remotely

  • Perform site preventative maintenance on computer equipment and systems onsite at retail stores

  • Perform project work as assigned

  • Perform Maintenance Change Request (MCR) work as assigned such as new or equipment upgrade rollouts for the retail stores

Skills/Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a Computer Networking, Management Information Systems, Computer Repair, Computer Science, Information Technology Management or related field OR Equivalent work experience

  • Industry standard certifications are a plus (Microsoft, CompTIA, etc.).

  • Experience with computer systems, computer equipment including peripherals, mobile technology, or network/client-server troubleshooting, installation, or maintenance.

  • Knowledge of all Windows Operating Systems, UNIX, LINUX, MAC, and various mobile operating systems.

  • Familiarity with imaging techniques and software

  • Excellent design and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, as well as cooperate with others in team efforts

  • Must work within designated normal office hours assigned or required by work

  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed

  • Must carry a company provided after hours on call cell phone as needed
