Actalent Automation Engineer in Eatontown, New Jersey

Job Title: Automation EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to conceive, develop, and execute projects aimed at automating processes, improving quality, reducing operating costs, increasing yield, and minimizing downtime. This role involves designing new high-speed equipment and machinery, sourcing and installing purchased equipment, and integrating existing equipment to enhance efficiency and output.

Responsibilities

  • Design new high-speed equipment and machinery to support production and process engineering needs.

  • Conceptualize, source, evaluate, qualify, test, and install purchased equipment.

  • Utilize Continuous Improvement mindset, tools, and processes to modify and integrate existing equipment for improved efficiency and output.

  • Introduce innovative new assembly technologies into the manufacturing process.

  • Test and debug automated manufacturing solutions.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot automated manufacturing systems.

Essential Skills

  • Robotics

  • PLC programming

  • Electrical troubleshooting

  • Ability to program PLCs from scratch and read logic

  • HMI programming

  • Pneumatic controls

  • AC/DC motors

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BA degree in engineering field

  • 3+ years in the manufacturing industry

  • Experience programming robotic equipment

  • Experience with PLC programming and electrical troubleshooting

Work Environment

The role is based in Eatontown, where there are 100 people onsite. The Automation Engineer will report to the Maintenance Manager and will spend most of the day on the floor working with mechanics and engineers. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The company offers great benefits, a bonus structure for engineers, tuition reimbursement, and yearly reviews with pay increases.
