DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary Duties & Responsibilities  * High efficiency and throughput are maintained in the Culling department, customer orders are pulled from inventory by using the database and customer specifications.  * Quality levels attained after each culling step are closely monitored and maintained to ensure wafers meet high standard of both cleanliness and meet proper specifications.  * Quality documents are followed and enforced according to our Quality Policy, pertaining to all aspects fulfilling customer orders.  * All culling operators/operations follow established written procedures.  * Data is accurately recorded and entered in the database in a timely manner.  * Performs detailed inspections from SICA images, analysis defects on surface and in substrate, and assigns qualitative results of wafers inspected.  * Effectively works with managers, consultants, and internal resources to solve problems.  * Maintains schedules and documentation for customer orders and samples. Coordinates daily shipment schedule with Production Planner, and Site Manager.  * Inspects and documents product quality. Communicates problems, results, and important issues to the team in a timely manner to Process Owner(s)  * Identifies ways to improve culling process efficiency, productivity and quality, working closely with Process Engineering.  * Keeps daily track of the status of customer shipments in all stages of fulfillment, from order placed to order shipped.  * Create Dispositions for customer shipments  * Work with NJ personnel for wafer selection with small customers or one time orders.  * Ensure culling operators are processing orders per shipping schedule  * Works in conjunction with supervisors to suggest overtime if needed to maintain shipments on time.  * Maintains clean and organized work areas  * Lead by example to meet 100% On Time Delivery  * Supports initiatives to continuously improve and reduce variations in specific operations or processes, including Six Sigma training, process control charting, process capability studies, and lean manufacturing.  * New equipment installations are supported in conjunction with the responsible engineers and supervisors.  * Supports and responds to requests for assistance with customer related quality and delivery issues.  * Culling procedures are formalized and documented in a format that meets ISO requirements and Division standards.  * Checklists and Shipping schedules are created and monitored.  * Provides training to new employees as needed, and keeps training documents according to Division Standards.  * Actively supports company-wide environmental, health and safety programs.  * Quickly responds to correct any environmental, health or safety hazard  * Provides and supports the evolution and operation of an EHS program

Safety Requirements All employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards. This includes the use of proper protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job responsibilities.

Managers will ensure that all safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently. They will ensure that risk assessments are performed, proper training, work instructions, required PPE is available, and will monitor compliance.

Quality & Environmental Responsibilities Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
