EASTLAND MEMORIAL Physical Therapist - FT in EASTLAND, Texas

**Job Type Full-time

**JOB SUMMARY: Administers physical medicine and rehabilitation as prescribed by a physician. Utilizes therapy modalities in direct patient assessment, therapy, and testing; utilizes exercise, massage, manipulations, and physical agents to aid in diagnosis and treatment.

**Requirements JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education: Bachelors Degree required; Masters or Doctorate preferred

B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Knowledge of physical therapy/occupational therapy equipment and have effective oral and written communication skills.

**Licensure, Registry or Certification: Must have current Texas Physical Therapy License/Occupational Therapy License/ SLP License or be registry eligible.

D. Experience:

  1. Prior Work Experience: One-year experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist/Occupational Therapist/ Speech Therapist preferred.

  2. Technical Training: CPR preferred. Basic computer skills preferred.

E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Repeated bending, stooping and reaching with arms and feeling with hands and fingers is required during the treatment of patients. Pushing and pulling up to 300 pounds and carrying up to 50 pounds may be required during the patient treatment process, or when transferring or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless. Employee may be required to move, lift, support or move patients who suddenly become incapable of supporting themselves, assisted by other team members or with designated equipment for this purpose. The employee must be physically able to operate equipment used in the job. Vision requirements include close, distance, color vision and the ability to adjust focus; must be able to hear conversation in order to interact with physicians, patients, staff, family members and other team members. The work environment will be subject to moderate to loud noise from equipment. Stressful situations involving patients may occur during treatment. Employees are exposed to patient elements.
