STV Incorporated Senior Economist in Eastgate, Washington

STV is looking for a Senior Economist to join our Infrastructure Economics Practice in The Centers of Excellence, at our Bellevue/Seattle, WA office. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping our organization's infrastructure economics practice strategy, providing expert analysis, and contributing to informed decision-making. As a Senior Economist, you will lead economic research initiatives, forecast trends, and offer strategic insights to guide our organization's growth and financial stability. Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Economic Analysis: Conduct in-depth economic research and analysis to inform organizational strategy and decision-making. Provide insightful forecasts on economic trends, market conditions, and relevant policy changes. 2. Policy Evaluation: Evaluate the impact of economic policies on your organization and industry. Offer recommendations to optimize financial performance in alignment with economic shifts. 3. Data Modeling and Forecasting: Develop and implement sophisticated economic models to predict market trends and assess potential risks. Utilize statistical methods to analyze economic data and derive actionable insights. 4. Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of global economic trends and contribute to thought leadership within the organization. Publish research papers and articles, representing the organization at conferences and industry events. 5. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing economic expertise to support various business initiatives. Communicate complex economic concepts in a clear and concise manner to both internal and external stakeholders. 6. Business Development: Provide support in various business development activities, including networking events and lead generation initiatives. Qualifications: Master's degree in economics, statistics, business, civil infrastructure engineering, or related field. 10-15 years of professional experience as an economist. Prior experience scoping and leading economic projects as well as supervising/mentoring junior teammates. Ability to interact with clients on a regular basis. Experience in creating benefit-cost models. Excellent writing and communication skills in English. Advanced spreadsheet skills (MS Excel). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong command of other MS Office applications (Word, Powerpoint). Preferred Qualifications: Experience in applied econometrics or advanced forecasting. Experience in a professional consulting environment. Experience in transportation and infrastructure economics, including traffic and revenue forecasting. Experience undertaking micro-econometric studies with large data sets. Experience in economic studies related to climate change. Expertise preparing benefit-cost analysis models. Familiarity with urban planning and related policy issues. Familiarity with public finance issues related to municipalities and states.
