Job Title: HVAC Technician

Job Description

HVAC technicians maintain HVAC systems and are responsible for diagnosing maintenance risks on equipment they are installing or maintaining. The majority of work will be done in commercial and industrial settings, focusing on troubleshooting compressors, blowers, motors, chillers, and refrigeration components.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose maintenance risks on equipment.

  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems.

  • Troubleshoot compressors, blowers, motors, chillers, and refrigeration components.

  • Travel to field locations to service and repair HVAC units.

  • Work on duct systems, minisplit systems (ductless), and Bard Units (wall-mounted HVAC units with ducts).

  • Collaborate with and assist current HVAC tech during an extended training period.

Essential Skills

  • EPA Universal 608 certification

  • Valid NYS Driver's License

  • Experience troubleshooting heating and cooling systems

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with refrigeration, BARD units, split systems, cooling, heating, boilers, chillers, and furnaces.

Work Environment

The position involves a mix of field and shop work. Employees will ride along with the current HVAC tech to service, troubleshoot, and fix leased out units between Rochester and Syracuse. All drive time is paid from departure to return to the shop. Work hours start at 7 AM and can extend until 5-6 PM if work orders run long. Shop days typically end at 3 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Syracuse, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
