Summary

Provides daily cleaning services such as making beds; vacuuming; cleaning bathrooms, tub, and sink; dusting; emptying trash receptacles; and cleaning rooms to promote a clean, clutter-free, and odor-free environment. Operates floor equipment to strip, wax, and refurbish floors.

Job Duties Keeps all public restrooms clean and stocked with appropriate supplies for the convenience of residents, staff, and visitors. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies. Empties all wastebasket and trash receptacles and ashtrays to maintain an odor-free and sanitary environment. Handles and keeps all chemicals under lock and key when not in use for the safety of the residents. Performs restorative floor care such as stripping, refinishing, and top scrubbing and recoating of hard surface flooring. Collects, transports, and prepares infectious waste; sterilizes and documents activities. Washes walls, ceilings, doors, windows, blinds, vents, and lights. Minimum Qualifications 1 year of floor care experience Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to lead the housekeeping team. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Knowledge of methods of cleaning patient rooms and operation of laundry services. Knowledge of equipment such as vacuums, auto scrubbers, extractors, auto burnishers, and commercial washers and dryers. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma/GED Physical Demands

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs.  Examples:  Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
