Our client is a respected environmental science laboratory and is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented self-starter to join its team as a Quality Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality assurance and control in the laboratory, in compliance with regulatory requirements. The position involves managing regulatory compliance, documentation, and leading annual audits.
Located in East St. Paul, MN
Pay: $60k-80k
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's QA/QC program across all locations in alignment with ISO17025, ISO9001, industry best practices, and local standards.
Establish and regularly review standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other quality documents to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Ensure the laboratory is prepared for and successfully passes audits (internal, client-initiated external, or ISO certification/accreditation).
Oversee the implementation of corrective actions for non-compliance or deficiencies identified during audits or operations.
Monitor and evaluate laboratory performance using key quality metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage and maintain proper documentation for quality records and certifications.
Ensure data quality control procedures are followed to guarantee integrity, accuracy, and completeness of all results.
Provide training and development on quality standards, regulatory updates, and best practices.
Develop QA/QC training for staff as part of onboarding and continuous improvement efforts.
Collaborate with team members to integrate QA/QC processes across all operations and locations.
Track and report staff performance regarding QA/QC to the Laboratory Director.
Review and approve laboratory results for accuracy and compliance with QA/QC protocols.
Oversee compliance with workplace environmental health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in sensory science, environmental science, or a related field (preferred).
Experience managing a laboratory team.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
