The Position
Reporting Structure : The Fleet Manager II reports to the Manager – Planning and Customer Service.
Compensation : CRST offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary and a comprehensive benefits program.
Job Schedule : Monday-Friday (7:00 AM-4:00 PM)
Role and Responsibilities
The Fleet Manager III oversees fleet operations, ensuring trucks are well-maintained, compliant with legal requirements, and operating efficiently. This role is responsible for driver satisfaction and retention while optimizing fleet utilization and cost control. The position requires strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills to drive performance and service excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
Fleet Operations Management : Oversee daily planning and dispatch of equipment and drivers to maximize utilization and profitability
Customer Service & Load Coordination : Book loads, resolve service failures, and act as the primary liaison between customers, drivers, and internal teams
Driver Retention & Development : Build strong relationships with drivers to enhance performance, engagement, and retention
Safety & Compliance : Ensure adherence to all safety procedures and compliance requirements
Performance Monitoring : Develop and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track and improve operational performance
Compensation Authorization : Approve driver pay-related items and ensure accuracy in payroll and settlements
Experience and Requirements
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Skills and Expertise
Experience managing drivers and optimizing fleet operations
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with drivers and customers
Ability to analyze operational data and implement performance improvements
Proficiency in fleet management software and dispatch systems
Preferred Experience
Experience in dedicated transportation or trucking logistics
Previous leadership experience in a fleet operations role
Knowledge of KPI development and process improvement strategies
