Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
Unit Position Summary
Responsibilities include:
Collaborating with local artists, musicians, and STEAM educators to develop programs and activities for all ages and backgrounds
Assisting with festival event planning; including venue reservations, vendor coordination, event floorplan creation, event set up/tear down, and other event logistics
Providing editorial support for print, web, and other digital materials
Providing on-site assistance with festival operations throughout March and April events
Assisting with program evaluation and reporting
Collaborating with other festival staff members to ensure the success of all programs and events
Requirements
Event planning or stage management experience
Flexible weekend and afternoon availability during the month of April
Ability and comfort using a wide range of Microsoft Office software
Attention to detail, including fact-checking, and maintaining schedules
Must be able to stand and walk for longer periods of time and be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
Possess a current, valid US driver’s license
Desired Qualifications
Experience developing and facilitating educational programs
Experience with public speaking
Volunteer management experience
Experience with database management (Microsoft Access and Excel)
Experience dealing with vendors
Experience with program evaluation methods and practices
