POSITION: Enrichment Teacher/Substitute Enrichment Teacher (Daily) (PT) - East IslipPROGRAM: Serve as a daily homework assistance teacher for the ESBOCES School Year Enrichment Program at various locations in East Islip UFSD K-5 buildingsSITE: Various K-5 Elementary Buildings in the East Islip School District LOCATIONS: East Islip, NY and Islip Terrace, NYHOURS: Monday - Thursday September - June (when school is in session)Typical range between 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. (Daily) QUALIFICATIONS: •NYS K-6 Certification•Demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment RESPONSIBILITIES:•Facilitate and maintain effective instruction and academic support during the mandatory homework/reading periods, enrichment lessons, and special events•Monitor students to provide adequate supervision and a safe environment, including following health and safety guidelines outlined by the district•Provide communication with parents, staff, and ESBOCES School Year Enrichment Directors•May also facilitate weekly special activities/projects for additional hours (per diem)START DATE: September 5, 2024SALARY: $22.95/hour (when school is in session)Studies show that women and members of some groups are more likely to underestimate their qualifications for a position.
