Pratt and Whitney Engine Design and Systems Integration (EDSI) is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern with interest in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), to support next generation propulsion programs. The candidate may be responsible for the development of system models for one or more programs. Candidate will also be involved in Pratt & Whitney’s digital transformation initiatives and be a contributor to EDSI MBSE process development. This position provides the opportunity to be involved with cutting-edge digital engineering capabilities for future military propulsion programs. Candidate responsibilities will be commensurate with their background, experience, and education.

What You Will Do

  • Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools in order to perform systems engineering tasks including:

  • Deriving and analyzing requirements, defining system logical and physical architectures, defining interfaces

  • Interface with team leads, team members, and other teams (Software and Hardware) on a daily basis and provide task progress status updates

  • Participate in customer and/or internal technical reviews throughout the product lifecycle

  • Ensure consistent application of engineering best practices and comply with EDSI standard processes

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Enrolled in a degree program in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Internship experience with Pratt & Whitney, RTX, or within the aerospace industry

  • Experience collaborating with a team to develop innovative ideas

  • Experience communicating clear and effective messages to a broad audience

  • Experience with MBSE tools such as SysML, Rhapsody ®, Cameo Systems Modeler/Magic Draw ®, or equivalent

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

What is my role type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
