IQVIA Director, Process Improvement, LEAN Lead (Remote) in Durham, North Carolina

Operational Transformation and Performance (OTP) is the trusted partner accelerating business transformation within R&DS Solutions. Business Transformation drives four specific disciplines to deliver productivity and business continuity. Our focus is strategic project management, training management, business integration and process improvement. Our initiatives are aligned to the goals and priorities of the R&DS business at IQVIA.

The role of LEAN lead has the following responsibilities: Apply expertise to identify, organize, and establish effective management of collaborative initiatives through project identification and set-up and execution of tasks directly impacting the operational and success of the team. Ensures all work is in accordance with SOPs, policies, and practices. Sustain and improve the commitment to being the center for operational productivity measurement, optimization, and efficiency through change and process improvement increasing value-add throughout the organization. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the LEAN training and mentor program

  • Drive benefit tracking across R&DS

  • Managing capacity for LEAN team in OTP; resource managing assignments and capacity, prioritizing work, etc...

  • Conduct complex LEAN events, cross functional and strategic in nature

  • Mentor 10-15 LEAN facilitators

  • Administer the LEAN community of practice within R&DS

  • Spark system administration

Essential Functions

  • Recommend strategic programs forming long-term business partnerships maximizing the creation of global solutions that accelerate operational process/productivity improvements within IQVIA positively impacting data capture, project planning, change/data/process management, data compilation and high quality deliverable generation.

  • Participate in strategic meetings and focus teams serving as advisor while gathering potential initiative insight for future engagement.

  • In conjunction with senior/executive management will determine initiative structure providing leadership regarding the scope and types of initiatives appropriate for team involvement.

  • Determine initiative scope, timelines, and feasibility.

  • Evaluate and provide feedback regarding risks, quality, and overall probability of success minimizing negative impact on project objectives and deliverables.

  • Develop risk management plan including coordination of issue escalation and resolution as well as contingency plans to mitigate risks across initiatives.

  • Serve as knowledge and subject matter expert for service area and contact for senior and executive management regarding initiatives.

  • Ensure initiatives are aligned with overall strategy ensuring alignment and incorporation with overall IQVIA strategy

  • Identify and establish transparent, successful collaboration with internal and external stakeholders: team, client and IQVIA

  • Lead high level presentations to executive management.

  • Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions on human resources matters.

  • Accountable for successful delivery of service implementations including meeting project timelines in line with meeting budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree business, life sciences or related field and a minimum of 12 years of experience in relevant function (e.g. clinical operations, applied math, IT, data management, business, or laboratory), required.

  • Including a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience (pharmaceutical) including project management experience, with a minimum of 2 years experience in a management capacity; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Advanced LEAN certified, facilitator certified, or equivalent training and certification.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $132,400.00 - $245,800.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
