Position Overview

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The primary purpose of the NCCU Department of Athletics is to lead an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics program. The department prioritizes providing a high-quality academic and athletic experience that enhances the overall education of student-athletes. It aims to align the goals of the athletics program with the academic development of its student-athletes.

Primary Purpose of Position

The primary responsibilities include overseeing, managing, and executing the daily operations of the football program under the guidance of the Head Football Coach.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral skills

  • Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects at once

  • Proficiency in many computer system such as but not limited to all Microsoft systems, Photoshop, and Adobe.

  • Extensive knowledge and ability to use social media and new multimedia technologies such as but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.

  • Ability to learn quickly and communicate effectively

  • Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage time well and prioritize tasks

Minimum Education/Experience

Bachelor Degree; Previous college athletic operations, playing and/or coaching experience at the college or high school level.

Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

Function Administrative

Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.

Assists with administrative duties relating to football program operations in concert with the Head Football Coach and within the rules of the NCAA, MEAC and NCCU.

Function Administrative

Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.

Assists with team travel coordination, game day setup and operations, special event planning and operations, bowl game planning and operations, practice field operations, training camp operations, recruiting weekend operations, coaches’ clinic operations and business office interactions.

Function Administrative

Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.

Works and assists with compliance and recruiting matters, including; recruiting weekend operations, team travel coordination, game day and special event setup and operations, bowl game planning and operations, practice field and training camp operations.

Function Administrative

Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.

Perform duties within the football program’s operations department. Responsible for managing special projects, as assigned.
