Kelly Services is currently seeking a Collections Specialist for one of our top clients in Durham, NC.

  • Salary: $55,000 to $65,000

  • Monday through Friday - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

What’s a typical day as a Collections Specialist? You’ll be:

  • The Collections Specialist will ensure that customer payments are received according to agreed terms, investigate delinquent accounts, reconcile accounts, contact customers, and prepare standardized reports on credit/collections’ status.

  • Improve cash flow management through the reduction of accounts receivable to meet DSO objective by initiating collection process on due and overdue accounts through the contacting of customers to generate payment.

  • Examine weekly Aged Trial Balance for assigned accounts to determine delinquent customer balances to be collected. Provide weekly detailed notes on collection progress for these accounts to Credit Control Manager.

  • Address and assist in the resolution of customer invoice queries by following up with other departments (BD, Project Services) within the US and/or UK. Reconcile account balances and maintain detailed and accurate collection activity reports. Identify and clear unreconciled cash on customers’ accounts. Identify older balances on accounts and investigate and execute the optimum course of action to collect balances due.

  • Special projects – request credit notes through use of the Credit Note Authorization e-form, when needed; submit customer account balances for bad debt write off; initiate customer refund requests.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

  • Associates Degree in Business or

  • 3+ years in Commercial Collections field

  • 3+ years’ experience in one of the following areas:

  • Commercial collections

  • Customer Service/Client relations; internal / external
