Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Teacher- Child Care II in Durant, Oklahoma
Job Summary: You will implement an education program that is developmentally appropriate and congruent with the Center's philosophy and goals. You will show good teaching practices and maintain the security and safety of the children in the Child Development Center. You will report to the Childcare Supervisor.
Primary Tasks:
You will prepare, posts and implement lesson plans and posted daily activities that address all developmental areas.
Guide children through a daily routine; teach children how to care for materials and equipment; administer appropriate guidance.
Train teacher's aides: delegates assignments and oversee assistant teachers/aides.
Observe and maintain records of each child including daily attendance, meal counts, and any accident or abuse reports.
You will maintain learning centers using appropriate group management techniques; create and frequently alter learning centers to keep them attractive and interesting.
Assure that all practices and activities comply with the OKDHS Licensing Requirements for Centers.
Collect and gather materials needed for the next day's class activities.
Make sure classroom is set up and ready for the children's arrival the next day.
Ensure the health, welfare, and safety of the children in the group or on field trips.
Prepare and monitor mealtime activities with the group.
Participate in staff meetings and staff development and professional activities with consideration for the licensing guidelines for training.
You will monitor appearance of bulletin boards.
Promote parent involvement in Center conferences, parent meetings, center activities and classroom plans.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Exhibit strong social skills
Communicate both orally and in writing
Have knowledge and ability to work with appropriate software applications
Perform the physical requirements of the job that may include lifting up to 55 pounds, frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
1+ years of experience working with children
