Job Summary
The quality technician is responsible for addressing manufacturing quality issues. This technician will also assist the production team to train new operators on process setup and product measurement, and assist the quality team with OE final inspection, scrap tracking, process audits, calibration, machine set-up documents, and pattern making.
Primary Duties
Assist production to train new operators on process setup and product inspection.
Investigate and resolve manufacturing quality issues, including in-process and end-of-line.
Regularly communicate the status and resolution of issues to Production.
Investigate and resolve non-conformances as identified.
Document investigations on NC and in QT9 as appropriate.
Support the quality team with general tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Willingness to teach coworkers in print reading, inspection, and work instructions.
Above-average understanding of manufacturing work instructions.
Working understanding of materials, manufacturing, and inspection processes.
Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Word & Excel and MacPac preferred.
Willingness to understand verbal and written work instructions, provide feedback, and complete instructions.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a willingness to learn new information as required.
Willingness to document nonconforming products when production has a difference in understanding.
Adhere to all safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
Physical Requirement: Capability to lift 20 pounds.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. The noise level is usually moderate.
Education / Experience
5 years’ work experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
Working knowledge of product qualification testing.
Experience with inspection tools and equipment (micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, and first-piece inspections).
Basic knowledge of materials used in part construction.
Quality auditing experience preferred.
