Position Data:

Title:Grant Support Specialist

Grade:7Exempt:XNon-Exempt:

Reports to:Director of Grants and Systems Compliance

Assist the Director of Grants and Systems Compliance in researching available public and private grant funding opportunities and preparing formal proposals for funding. Participates in the development of agency reports and publications.Hours per week 35: Monday - Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm. Salary $19.27 - $20.27/hourly

Requirements

Position Responsibilities and Specific Duties:

• Assist the Director of Grants and Systems Compliance in monitoring grant related websites and publications and distributing grant information to program managers.

• Assists in researching government, foundation and private sources of funding to identify grant opportunities that are consistent with the agency mission.

• Researches funding source proposal requirements and submission deadlines and disseminates information to appropriate managers.

• Maintains awareness of specific requirements for funding applications, including obtaining Q & A documents and participating in webinars and workshops.

• Participates in program planning and development as part of a team.

• Assists in all phases of preparing grant applications: researching and preparing “needs” data, writing narrative; proofreading and editing, preparing budget and budget justification narrative, and preparing attachments.

• Coordinates preparation and assembly of proposal documents with strict attention to details of the specific requirements.

• Maintains well organized and accurate grant files. Assists in scheduling meetings.

• Assists in compiling agency Annual Impact Report, Continuous Quality Improvement Report, Community Needs Assessment, and newsletters in collaboration with supervisor and Systems Compliance staff, as well as service area Directors and Managers.

• Develops appropriate agency social media posts as assigned.

• Assists in preparing, proofreading, and editing agency documents.

Attends meetings and training sessions as required by supervisor.

• Promotes agency mission.

• Maintains confidentiality and complies with the code of ethics.

• Maintains consistent professional customer service.

• Job performance incorporates integrated service delivery model while promoting self-sufficiency.

• Other duties as designated by supervisor

Key Working Relationships:

A.Internal: Director of Grants & Systems Compliance, Systems Compliance Coordinator, Systems Compliance & Marketing Specialist, Service area Management

B.External: Support staff of local, state, and federal government departments and other funders.

Organizational Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director of Grants and Systems Compliance in producing accurate and professional documents representative of the agency and consistent with its mission.

• Adheres to all policies and procedures

• Participates in organizational committee structures as appropriate

• Participates in organizational and divisional management systems

Knowledge, Skills Required:

• Associate degree in English, Writing, or Journalism required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Minimum of two years grant writing experience required

• Computer literacy- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required

• Excellent reading comprehension skills required

• Experience in (or ability to learn) InDesign, editing pdf documents, or other design software required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

• Knowledge of budgeting helpful

• Knowledge of human service needs and services in Chautauqua County helpful

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to research data and statistics

• Excellent organizational skills (maintaining files, organizing meetings)

Physical:

• Ability to lift up to and including 10-25 pounds of physical effort

• Must be able to provide consistent even tempered customer service at all times.
