WABTEC PASSENGER TRANSIT- DUNCAN, SOUTH CAROLINA

Role Name: Project Controlling Manager

Functional Relationship: Finance

Project Controlling Manager reporting to the Site Financial Director and dotted line to the Product Line Project Manager Director.

Must retain independence to challenge cross-functionally.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Accounting degree from an accredited college/university with demonstrated experience understanding complex and discrete project manufacturing including revenue recognition, strong Excel skills with advanced Pivot Table knowledge, and depth to understand and apply long term contract accounting. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills to interface with a broad range of audiences.

ROLE SUMMARY

Single point of contact for all financial issues relating to the WPT project portfolio supporting the OEM Brakes and Coupler product line worth $80M annually, and 40+ projects at different phases. Provides all required financial information about the entire project portfolio, with the assessment and identification of risks and opportunities early on with measurement of the financial impact. Proactively follow and challenge the CMIP forecast and provide monthly updates to the internal WPT leadership team as well as the Global Product Line Finance Leadership Team.

Proactively follow and challenge the project cash flow.

Co-pilot to the Project Manager Director/ Team to assure focus on the achievement of the financial goals of the project.

FUNCTIONAL DUTIES:

  • Supervise team of 2-3 Project Controllers

  • Partner with all Internal Functions to lead cost saving activities to improve overall project margins

  • Partner with PM in negotiations on change orders, spares and options, and claim calculations (both offensive and defensive).

  • Partner for insurance, auditors (internal and external), consortia partners and internal partners in all commercial affairs.

  • Make financial situation transparent to the Project Core Team, including current status and alternative scenarios.

  • Perform bottoms up analyses and provide proposed project EAC adjustments as a joint effort together with the Core Team members, ensure its reliability and support PM in EAC evolution analysis

  • Review and approve all monthly project journal entries

  • Review and report all CMIP activities on a monthly basis; maintain sharepoint file month over month for variance control

  • Partner with WPT PMO team to standardize PPR process and reporting

  • Partner with WPT PMO team and Project Management Director to develop PPR annual calendar

  • Review and Analysis of variances between Budget, Forecast and Actual figures and comment on them in monthly Reporting – especially Sales POC, Margin and Free Cash flow

  • Lead and track project related savings activities

  • Assist in the annual budgeting process

  • Assist in the monthly forecasting process

  • Control of Warranty Provisions to the end of the project; monitor and track costs to come for active project including PMIs and any known retrofits

  • Coordinate commercial affairs of internal partners, i.e. check of inter-company Sales and Purchases (Siscos matching)

  • Provide input parameters for Bid Approval Process and support tender activities for variation orders
