GE Aerospace Lead Engineer - Environmental Barrier Coatings in Duncan, South Carolina
Job Description Summary
As a Lead Engineer/Technologist, you will be working to support the industrialization, quality, and producibility of GE’s Environmental Barrier Coating. This position is on-site at Advanced Ceramic Coatings, a joint venture between GE and Lincotek located in Duncan South Carolina. This is role will require you to collaborate with ACC, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to impact short-term and long-term business goals.
Job Description
This role will be based on-site in a GE partner manufacturing shop located in Duncan, South Carolina. This is not a remote role.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead/Support development, industrialization, and production support projects focused on coatings technology for current and future engine designs
Track metrics and work quality improvement plans to address problem areas
Review documentation and witness supplier practices to determine if sound manufacturing and inspection principles are in place
Partner with other GE Aerospace teams and leadership to identify issues and develop solutions, balancing both tactical execution and strategic initiatives to drive quality improvement and cost reduction
Lead and participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments and coordinate tasks necessary to overcome issues
Participate, present, and provide feedback using your experience and expertise in technical and quality program reviews
Drive improvement actions utilizing supplier scorecards
Provide technical assistance to design to develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve producibility
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Engineering, Quality, Design, or Manufacturing)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Engineering, Manufacturing, Design, or Quality position
Desired Characteristics:
Engineering degree from an accredited college or university
Shop floor or quality manufacturing experience
Knowledge and experience with aerospace coatings, chemical processes, and/or special process quality systems
Strong technical aptitude related to manufacturing equipment and/or tooling design and build
Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn
Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively
Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed
Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative
