LHB, Inc. Structural Engineer in Training (EIT) in Duluth, Minnesota

Structural Engineer in Training (EIT) LHB has an immediate opportunity for a Structural Engineer in Training to join our Energy and Industry Business Unit. The position can be based out of our Duluth or Minneapolis, Minnesota offices. Position Summary The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to: Work effectively in hybrid work environment Prepare structural design calculations and drawings under guidance of an experienced engineer Participate in virtual and in-person project and department team meetings Communicate effectively and respectfully with design team Assist with, direct, and perform project drafting Work with other engineers and technicians to perform field assessments of existing structures Assist with construction site visits and field observations Complete requests for information and review of submittals Meet client objectives, and exceed their expectations Assist with written technical reports Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam Valid driver's license with ability to travel domestically, intermittently Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work outside in most weather conditions Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations Preferred Qualifications Prior structural engineering experience including concrete and steel design Passed or ability to take Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) Exam Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Mathcad, and structural analysis software such as RISA and/or STAAD Experience in using AutoCAD and/or Revit Experience with industry, building, and design codes Experience with proposal preparation Possess excellent time management and problem-solving skills Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities MSHA Certification Attention to detail, quality, and accuracy Ability to work on multiple tasks, respond positively to feedback, and an openness and desire to learn Good oral and written communication skills, including technical writing ability Required Submittals Resume Closing Date: February 12, 2024 Benefits Hybrid Work Environment Paid Holidays Paid Time Off Medical and Dental HSA/FSA (Medical, Dependent Care, Parking Transportation) Basic Life and AD&D 401k with Company Match Employee Assistance Program About LHB Founded in Duluth in 1966, LHB is a multidisciplinary architecture, engineering, and planning firm that serves clients nationwide.
