Robert Half Tax Analyst in Duluth, Georgia

Description We are in search of a Tax Analyst to join our team in Duluth, Georgia. In this role, you will be tasked with assisting in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local income tax returns, managing tax compliance processes, and working collaboratively with multiple teams.

Responsibilities:

• Extract and analyze data from our SAP system to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all federal and state income tax returns.

• Coordinate the filing of all income tax returns on a federal, state, and local level.

• Review and ensure the timely filing and payment of all tax returns.

• Prepare and book monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions.

• Handle the preparation and filing of indirect tax returns such as sales/use, gross receipts, personal property, business license, and other regulatory filings.

• Manage the sales tax compliance process, including the maintenance and gathering of exemption certificates for various indirect tax types.

• Collaborate with the Credit & Collections team to address customer sales tax inquiries, and with the AP team to provide appropriate exemptions to suppliers.

• Conduct multi-state taxability research and document conclusions, identifying potential overpayments and making recommendations for tax recovery efforts.

• Oversee the OneSource system and ensure the accuracy and completeness of its sales and use tax calculations.

• Maintain documentation on all federal, state, and local tax accounts and ensure all tax payments are properly documented.

• Respond to tax notices and prepare responses in a timely manner.

• Analyze and interpret tax rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with tax legislation.

• Manage tax audits, including preparing responses and liaising with tax authorities.

• Support special projects and initiatives related to tax planning and compliance.

• Collaborate on tax strategies with executive leadership team to support company initiatives and identify opportunities for tax savings. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Tax Analyst role or related field

• Proficiency in Annual Income Tax Provision, Annual Tax Provision, and Income Tax Provision

• Advanced knowledge of Tax Law

• Experience in preparing Tax Returns

• Proficiency in using SAP software

• Familiarity with Form 1099

• Expertise in Indirect Tax and Indirect Tax Compliance

• Proficiency in using OneSource software

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Attention to detail and accuracy in all work

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Knowledge of current tax regulations and updates

• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification (preferred)
