Position Summary

This Product Owner is responsible for the overall vision of the team outcomes and represents the valueit delivers to the organization. The role is the primary aggregator of business demand into clearpriorities for the development team. It is a highly collaborative and consensus-seeking role that ensuresrequirements integrity and execution alignment with the support of Agile Leadership, SoftwareEngineering, and Architecture. Also, effectively communicates cross-functionally across the organizationincluding gaining trust and influence among executives. Will operate in an Agile environment that is veryfast-paced across multiple business domains.

Objectives

Product Vision and Roadmap:

  • Develop and maintain a clear product vision and roadmap that aligns with company strategy and customer requirements.

  • Communicate the product vision and roadmap to stakeholders and the development team.

Requirements Gathering and Management:

  • Engage with customers, stakeholders, and users to gather and define detailed product requirements.

  • Translate customer needs into well-defined product features and user stories.

    Backlog Management:

  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring that the highest value features are delivered to customers.

  • Continuously refine and update the backlog based on feedback and changing priorities.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Act as the primary liaison between the development team and stakeholders.

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the Agile team and across departments.

Agile Process Management:

  • Lead Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Ensure the team follows Agile best practices and principles.

Product Delivery:

  • Oversee the development and delivery of product features, ensuring they meet quality standards and deadlines.

  • Conduct regular reviews and demos to gather feedback and validate product features

Market and Industry Analysis:

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes in the water utility sector.

  • Use market insights to inform product decisions and strategy.

Customer Advocacy:

  • Champion the voice of the customer throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • Ensure that customer feedback is incorporated into product improvements and future development.

Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Skills

  • Scrum Master and/or Product Owner certifications

  • Experience with modern Web and Mobile Applications

  • Experience working as hands on technical resource

  • Experience with Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence methods

  • Exposure to AWS or other Cloud provider

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years conducting complex business analysis that directly became requirements for successful software development efforts

  • 2+ years within an Agile framework for software delivery (preferred as a System Analyst, Business Analyst, Product Owner, or similar)

  • 2+ years delivering or directly supporting Testing and Quality assurance practices for Software Development

  • Proven leadership abilities with influence, communication, and motivation of teams

  • Exposure to Agile Project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence

  • Proven team player with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic agile work environment

  • Supported a metrics-driven data culture to drive accountability and transparency

  • Passionate problem solver and motivated self-starter including ability to analyze situations and recommend sound solutions and implementation strategies

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Location

  • Duluth, Georgia; May be required to travel to one of our manufacturing/customer locations up to 20% of the time when necessary.
