The Associate Director, Pets Marketing develops and implements brand plans and tactics for a US brand to meet business objectives while contributing to the leadership of the marketing team and partnering globally to improve global brand strategies.

The SR Associate Director, leads development, implementation, and evaluation of marketing strategies. Manage and develop team of marketing professionals. 50% of time focused on Marketing or brand strategy and support implementation. Leads launch and long-term growth strategies for key accounts, service areas, or brands.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and executes strategic plans that optimize sales, market share and revenue growth for a brand or set of brands in the short and long term.

  • Develops and executes product and portfolio strategies with internal, external, global cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Utilizes market research, industry trends, competitive intelligence, and risk/ROI parameters to identify potential business opportunities.

  • Fosters financial accountability and awareness of economic factors across all levels of the organization and anticipates issues impacting resources to ensure the organizations financial viability.

  • Provides direction and guidance to team members on Boehringer's marketing strategy, aligning company objectives with customer-focused initiatives.

  • Enhances understanding among colleagues about critical market trends and potential business opportunities.

  • Oversees the development of strategies for major marketing campaigns, including identifying tasks, allocating resources, and establishing timelines to align with brand objectives and customer needs.

  • Promotes a comprehensive understanding of economic variables both internally and externally to create strong sales and product supply projections, while also anticipating potential challenges that may affect funding and financial management.

  • Liaises closely with the field force to gain valuable customer insights and identify which industry best practices to use to provide guidance to others on effectively meeting both current and future customer needs.

  • Contributes to the leadership of the marketing team through both coaching and mentorship of other marketing team members and demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the business including brands outside of their direct responsibilities.

Requirements

AD, Pets Marketing:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Seven-plus (7+) years product marketing or field sales experience, of which five (5) years of marketing or relevant AH experience (includes but not limited to AH roles in field Sales, technical support, customer care or veterinary practice) or DVM and three-plus (3+) years Animal Health industry experience.

  • People or project leadership experience preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as outstanding interpersonal abilities and a proven track record of building relationships with stakeholders.

  • Organization, planning & project management skills along with solid decision making & negotiation skills.

  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.

  • Strategic thinking, initiative, and creativity and proven track record for innovation.

  • Demonstrate flexibility by adapting strategic and tactical approaches using research, data, and industry trends.

  • Problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to collaborate, influence and gain buy in from cross functional stakeholders, without direct authority, to deliver results in a highly matrixed organization.

  • Entrepreneurial initiative with a proven history of surpassing both quantitative and qualitative goals.

  • Capability in providing guidance and leadership to fellow team members.

  • Managing and successfully executing a large-scale business project, overseeing the development and implementation of strategies and metrics to achieve specified objectives.

SR AD, Pets Marketing:

  • Bachelor’s and 10+ years product marketing or field sales experience, of which 6 years of marketing or relevant AH experience, includes but not limited to AH roles in field sales, technical support, customer care or veterinary practice, or DVM and 6+ years relevant Animal Health industry experience.

  • Written and verbal communication skills along with excellent presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop key stakeholder relationships.

  • Organization, planning & project management skills along with solid decision making & negotiation skills.

  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects & prioritize effectively.

  • Strategic thinking, initiative, and creativity and proven track record for innovation.

  • Ability to develop and evolve strategic & tactical elements based on research data & industry trends.

  • Problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to collaborate and gain buy in from stakeholders to deliver results in a matrix organization.

  • Entrepreneurial drive with proven track record of exceeding financial and other quantitative goals as well as qualitative goals.

  • Ability to lead others.

  • Previous experience leading a larger scale business project including development & implementation of project plan and metrics and achievement of goals.

  • People or project leadership experience preferred.
