Northrop Grumman is seeking a motivated and innovative professional to expand the business management team in Dulles, VA that supports our Satellite Servicing Operating unit. Selected candidate will assist on multiple programs within the Satellite Servicing Operating Unit with opportunity for career growth in an emerging segment of the space industry. In office support required minimum Tuesday - Thursday, but could be more depending on specific program demands.

Roles and responsibilities will encompass the following, and vary slightly depending on specific position, program, or business unit to which you are assigned:

  • Review and approve changes to performance measurement baseline as required.

  • Support internal/external audits, reviews, fact-finding, and negotiation support requested by programs, customers, and company management.

  • Perform analysis and prepare reports to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.

  • Support the preparation and coordination of financial forecasting and reporting, Annual Operating Plan and Resource Plan.

  • Perform cost and schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks.

  • Prepare financial inputs to internal reports and presentations.

  • Set up cost control system, monitor and control costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system.

  • Perform program financial analyses and provide both external and internal reporting (s) for Sector programs.

  • Perform Earned Value Metric (EVM) tasks including: Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development, budget baseline, cost risk analysis/ assessment and visibility reports, development and analysis of estimates to complete.

  • Working with Program Management, IPTs, functional business analysts, and CAMs to perform detailed cost/schedule planning, earned value variance analysis, identification of cost/schedule problems, and developing corrective action plans.

  • Maintain and provide status and tracking information on customer requests.

  • Work cooperatively with the technical staff to address customer requests.

  • Examines estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Candidates must be able to make sound decisions in a timely manner, display strong interpersonal skills, and have an agile perspective or compliance protocol mandated by regulated industry.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.

Basic Qualifications- Level 2:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and 2+ years of relevant experience as outlined - OR - a Master's degree with 1+ years of related experience. An additional 4 years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

Basic Qualifications- Level 3:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience as outlined - OR - a Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience. An additional 4 years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

Additional Basic Qualifications for Both Levels:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite - specifically high-level Excel skills (including: the ability to insert pivot tables, Vlookup, Xlookup, IF formulas, and conditional formatting, etc.).

  • Experience in program finance and accounting which includes EAC control.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Detail-oriented.

  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cobra EVMS.

  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and, innovative behaviors in past projects, roles, or experiences.

Salary Range: $72,100 - $108,100

Salary Range 2: $88,700 - $133,100

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
