What Strategic Planning/ Execution contributes to Cardinal Health

Strategic Planning/Execution is responsible for developing and supporting the realization of enterprise and category specific strategic plans and management agendas.

The Strategic Sourcing organization is a unified global sourcing team, with world class talent, recognized for creating strategic supplier partnerships and unlocking enterprise value, innovation and best cost to benefit Cardinal Health, patients and providers. Global Sourcing leverages global enterprise scale and deep domain expertise to increase and accelerate value capture; enhances supplier management practices to improve collaboration and performance; and establishes a leading talent management program which creates growth opportunities for the team.

Location - Targeting individuals that can work in our Dublin, Ohio office on a hybrid schedule (Tuesday through Thursday in-office... work from home Monday and Friday)

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Support the Strategic Sourcing annual and long-term planning process through collaboration with Strategic Sourcing leadership.

  • Develop and articulate understanding of healthcare market and trends affecting customers, competitors and product markets.

  • Establish critical Strategic Sourcing metrics and track performance.

  • Synthesize market and enterprise data to prepare summaries for executive leadership.

  • Develop business cases and recommend path forward to executive leadership.

Strategic Initiatives

  • Support the execution of the key strategic initiatives for the Strategic Sourcing organization.

  • Identify sourcing synergies, building action plans for capturing synergies and planning the execution of the strategies.

  • Analyze data sets and navigate tools to derive insights and inform decision-making.

  • Lead cross-functional project teams to achieve project goals by using project management techniques.

  • Collaborate with workstream owners to provide appropriate level of project support and ensure timely completion of key initiatives.

  • Support strategic aspect of M&A and due diligence opportunities, if needed

  • Support strategic partnership development on behalf of Global Sourcing.

Qualifications

  • Experience in consulting, strategy, and/or project management

  • 5 years experience in related field (pharma) preferred but not required.

  • Relevant background in strategic execution-oriented role (transformation, strategic planning, M&A, consulting, etc) preferred

  • Ability to communicate at a high level (interacting with executive leadership and/or leading team presentations) a must-have

  • Deep knowledge of Cardinal Health business units preferred but not required

  • Alteryx and Tableau knowledge a plus, but not necessary

  • Advanced command of MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)

What is expected of you and others at this level

  • Develop business cases and strategies in Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Tracks market trends and develops strategies

  • Works on or may lead complex projects of large scope and impact

  • Leverages project management techniques and drives project objectives

  • Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues

  • Acts as a trusted advisor to Strategic Sourcing senior leadership

Anticipated Pay Range $103,500.00 - 147,500.00 USD

Bonus Eligible - Yes, 15% MIP (bonus) annually
