Sound Seal Inc Designer/Drafter in Dublin, Ohio

Description:

This position will serve a multi-faceted role within the engineering division. Responsibilities range from bridging gaps between various departments, providing engineering support for multiple design teams, manufacturing, sales and quality. Daily events include but not limited to ECR/ECN/ECO coordination to management, standard product design maintenance, various reporting and similar activities. Secondary responsibilities include project specific design activities to supplement Applications design groups backlog.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage and maintain the ECR process to ensure accurate and timely processing. Assist in the maintenance of files for engineering drawings, ECO's, manufacturing specs, and BOM's.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and departments to design, develop, test, and improve products and engineering processes.
  • Carry out engineering tasks within ERP.
  • Producing & revising CAD drawings according to specifications.
  • Generate project specific layouts, BOMs and manufacturing documentation for nationwide Kinetics representatives.
  • Interface with the shop to determine practical-manufacturing methods for the components required.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other technical documentation.
  • Manage and distribute cad standards and assist with any design issues as necessary.
  • Conduct research and gather data to support project objectives.
  • Assist in project management tasks, including scheduling, scope validation and quoting for engineering services.
  • Attend and conduct project meetings and provide updates on project status and progress
  • Maintain project files and documentation.
  • Participating in various company experiences, which may include attending workshops and training sessions.
  • Provide general assistance to professional staff or engineering teams.
  • Carry out additional tasks given by engineering management.

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in secular design position, mechanical & architectural disciplines preferred; engineering degree not required.
  • Must be skilled in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, including PDM experience.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft office software; Outlook, Excel, Word, Share Point, Teams, One Note.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Expertise in reading & interpreting construction/manufacturing documents and product cutsheets.
  • Knowledge of relevant engineering & manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Moderate knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, weldments, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Experience with MRP & ERP principles.
  • Must be able to function independently on projects within the job scope, completing jobs in a timely fashion with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication. Must demonstrate tact, diplomacy, professionalism, and positive demeanor.
