Job Title: IT System/Business Analyst

Location: Hybrid in Columbus OH

Contract Details: 12mo contract to hire

Pay Rate: $55hr

Citizenship Requirements: Open to U.S. citizens or Green Card Holders, the role is not open to C2C

The IT System/Business Analyst serves as a bridge between business needs and technical solutions. This role involves translating business requirements into detailed technical specifications, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, and driving standard business processes across the IT enterprise. The Analyst must understand business priorities and project significance, identify various approaches to problem-solving, and recommend optimal solutions.

Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive business process analysis, documenting current workflows and systems, creating requirements for new processes, developing use cases, and managing requirement changes.

,The Analyst should also have a strong technical background to effectively communicate complex information in a way that is easily understood by both technical and non-technical teams.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with Project Managers across multiple organizations to track progress, identify risks, communicate status, and assess business impacts.

  2. Maintain project documentation, including project lists, status reports, and budget tracking.

  3. Continuously develop and maintain technical expertise in specialized areas, staying updated on industry trends and best practices to produce consistent, high-performance solutions.

  4. Translate business requirements into technical specifications, produce feasibility reports, and design solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency.

  5. Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on project progress, obstacles, and achievements.

  6. Manage requirement changes in collaboration with Quality Control, Project Managers, and Technical Leads to ensure business acceptance.

  7. Develop use cases to facilitate communication between business and technical teams.

  8. Document current and future state assessments, and create and maintain functional models, process flows, and wire-frame diagrams.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and project management skills, with the ability to interpret customer business needs, model business functions, and translate them into technical and operational requirements.

  • Demonstrated IT knowledge of business analysis processes and functions.

  • Strong collaboration, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to lead communication efforts across IT and business teams.

  • Fluent in English, with clear and effective communication.

  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and guide other Business Analysts toward successful project completion.

  • Leadership experience in mentoring junior Business Analysts through the Business Analyst Community of Practice (BACoP).

  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends and the ability to work independently, prioritizing work as needed.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.

  • Expertise in iRise and the Rational toolset may be required for certain projects.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience required.

  • 40 hours of training (supplier provided) is required.
