Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Dryden, New York

Description

Nick Corieri with Robert Half in Syracuse is in search of a dedicated Sr. Accountant to join a local non-profit located just north of Ithaca, NY. In this role, you will be tasked with responsibilities that span across the agency and be the right-hand to the CFO with plenty of opportunity for growth and advancement within the company.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the general ledger and journal entries

• Perform account and balance sheet reconciliations regularly

• Conduct bank reconciliations and handle bank-related queries

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Ensure the timely completion of month-end closing processes

• Manage and process payroll using ADP

• Utilize FUND E-Z software for various accounting functions

• Apply fund accounting principles, specifically in a non-profit context

• Analyze financial data and prepare reports for decision-making

• Proactively identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Requirements

• 7-10+ years of hands-on accounting experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.

• Certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) are highly desirable.

• Proven proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Journal Entries.

• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential.

• Experience with Month End Close is required.

• Familiarity with ADP - Payroll is necessary.

• Proficiency in FUND E-Z software is desirable.

• Knowledge of Fund Accounting - Non-Profit is a significant asset.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Must adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct and maintain confidentiality.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Proactive approach to improving processes and identifying solutions.

• Commitment to continuous learning and development.
