Ascensus Senior Vice President, Relationship Management- Partner Solutions in Dresher, Pennsylvania
This role leads a team of senior level relationship professionals and is responsible for creating and proactively executing on strategies to support institutional partner growth, retention and profitability. Additional responsibilities include partnering closely with peer leaders in sales, product, marketing, service & operations, and technology to achieve revenue growth targets and maximize operating capabilities and profitability.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees the relationship management function for institutional and strategic partners within the Partner Solutions line of business as well as individual clients with assigned relationship management executives.
Accountable for client retention and satisfaction; maintains frequent client interaction to serve as the voice of the customer on the Partner Solutions leadership team.
Provides leadership to the relationship management department to meet its goals and objectives.
Participates in industry conferences and roundtables to stay abreast of key trends impacting our clients; serves as executive sponsor for key clients.
Maximizes the performance of the relationship management group through clear goal setting, coaching/development, and exposure to relationship management best practices.
Periodically evaluates the RM team to ensure the optimal structure for achieving business goals.
Formulates and supports the team in the execution of annual plans for institutional and strategic partners, with the objectives of maximizing profitability, ensuring retention, and delivering an outstanding client experience.
Manages cost center for the department, partnering with finance on the annual budget and multi-year strategic planning
Partners with senior leadership peers to support the creation and execution of strategic plans to increase market share/penetration and maximize opportunities for growth throughout the marketplace
Provides strong, visible leadership, which fosters positive attitudes and trust among associates, clients, and prospects
Represent Ascensus industry-wide at relevant events and conferences; continue to elevate our external profile as a thought leader and innovator
Monitors client feedback closely to anticipate changes in needs and expectations. Proactively identifies issues and restructures relationships to mitigate potential future risk
Implements metrics to validate decision making and identify areas of opportunity; and communicates broadly across the organization regarding the retirement relationship management team’s success
Uses retention analysis and data analytics to understand patterns and find ways to improve loyalty and retention
Partners with distribution leaders on all new institutional outsourcing opportunities
Ensures that the organization’s activities remain compliant with all relevant legal and regulatory guidelines
Maintains responsibility for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is preferred
Minimum15 years’ experience in the financial services industry, with minimum of 10 years in a client-facing leadership role
Minimum 8 years of successful 401(k) and advisor client management experience
Minimum 8 years managing and developing business relationships
Comprehensive knowledge of the retirement market, industry trends, and distribution channels
Proven leadership ability with evidence of strategic talent management and coaching skills
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to develop and support large, complex client and institutional partner relationships
Experience in negotiation, contract review and comprehensive understanding of the contract process; practical understanding of compliance/regulatory components of contracts
Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience managing a multi-million-dollar budget and articulating the costs/benefits of client-related expenditures
Must be able to express a sound opinion, consider alternate viewpoints and be open to feedback from clients and colleagues
Demonstrated ability to Interact effectively with a variety of internal and external constituencies
FINRA Series 6 or 7 and Series 24 or 26 licenses preferred
Sales and business development experience preferred
Strong track record of general management, strategic thinking, financial acumen, negotiation, coaching and talent development, sound judgment and the ability to balance client needs, contractual commitments, and organizational capabilities to deliver an outstanding client experience.
