Dontech Incorporated Mechanical Design Engineer in Doylestown, Pennsylvania

We have an immediate need for a Mechanical Design Engineerin Doylestown, PA. Dontech is an AS9100D / ISO9001:2015 Certified manufacturer specializing in optical coatings and fabrication of optical filters and LCD enhancement services. Dontech is looking for a candidate to work with a multidisciplinary team as part of a new product development cycle, which includes developing concepts and taking them from initial design and prototyping through commercialization. The successful candidate will work closely with fellow engineers, technicians, and machinists to design and manufacture engineering components.

Key Duties include, but are not limited to: •  Designs parts, components, and assemblies to meet requirements of assigned projects. •  Establishes and documents design standards and best practices for design and drawing creation. •  Keeps abreast of current technology, software, tools, and standards; participates in related training and professional development •  Creates CAD models, including part and assembly drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs) to support manufacturing, testing and assembly, and support components to assist with assembly. •  Manages associated documentation management system(s) including workflows. •  Works with senior and fellow engineers to develop alternatives and options for further development of projects and products. •  Supports product sourcing, purchasing and selection as required by the design process. •  Provides technical and engineering support for day-to-day processing, product development and process improvements. •  Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties. •  Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components. •  Ensures system and product quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and system capabilities, and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes. •  Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. •  Participates in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, and codes. •  Maintains logs and detailed records of all technical work. •  Contributes to the overall well-being and profitability of Dontech. •  Facilitates and supports continual improvement activities. •  Interfaces with multiple departments within the organization. •  Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices. •  Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions: •  Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering. •  Strong knowledge of CAD modeling, drawings, and machine design with experience in design analyses. Experience with SolidWorks is a plus. •  Good understanding of manufacturing processes including turning, milling, and welding. Experience with CAM software is a plus. •  Hands on experience with bearings design, CNC-machinery and clean rooms is a plus. •  Excellent communications skills both verbal and written. •  Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. •  Problem solving / analysis skills. •  Commitment to Dontech's Mission Statement and a strong team player. •  Ability to properly organize and prioritize tasks, as well as office environment. •  Ability to focus in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. •  Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities. •  Strong attention to detail; ability to ensure accuracy in job delivery. •  Strong aptitude for numbers. •  Well-developed interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities. •  Results-oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
