Robert Half Accounting Manager in Downey, California
Description We are in the market for a Sr. Accountant to join our team located in Downey, California. As part of this role, you will be tasked with the maintenance of our accounting processes, including the month-end close. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity within the manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
• Ensuring the accurate and timely execution of the month-end close process.
• Preparation of monthly and annual journal entries as part of the accounting process.
• Handling account reconciliations, with a focus on the balance sheet.
• Overseeing accruals as part of the financial management duties.
• Utilizing advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
• Leveraging Quickbooks for accounting tasks and financial management.
• Communicating effectively, both in written and verbal form, to address customer inquiries and provide relevant information.
• Operating with a degree of autonomy, demonstrating the ability to work independently when required.
• Monitoring and managing sales and use tax obligations. Requirements
• Applicant must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as an Accounting Manager or Lead Sr. Accountant
• Proficiency in executing Month End Close is mandatory
• Solid experience in preparing and posting Journal Entries is required
• Expertise in managing and maintaining the General Ledger is essential
• Demonstrated ability in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation is crucial
• Proficient in handling and computing Tax - Sales & Use
