Allied Machine & Engineering Apprentice Toolmaker in Dover, Ohio
Allied Machine & Engineering, headquartered in Dover, Ohio, is a leading manufacturer of hole making and finishing cutting tool systems. Our tooling solutions deliver the lowest cost per hole in a wide range of applications.
Allied is currently looking for someone to manufacture or fabricate an assortment of tools, jigs and fixtures per print specification with guidance from the Master Tool Maker. This position will be an afternoon shift and a shift premium is available!
Requirements
Produce tools, Jigs, and fixtures use to create, form, hold or shape AMEC’s product in the manufacturing process
Setup and operate CNC Tooling and Cutter Grinder, Surface Grinder, manual grinder and regrinding gun drills
Program machining centers in the tooling department
Develop the knowledge to set your own depth of cut, speeds, and feeds for cutting tools
Develop the ability to read complex blueprints
Complete inspection of all items in department
Bench or manual work and assemble of components
Run multiple operations at one time when appropriate
Prioritize work by the Alps scheduling system
Qualifications:
High School Graduate or GED equivalent
Program machining centers preferred
Good troubleshooting skills
Good Time management
Ability to use calipers, micrometers, indicators, scales, and other inspection equipment
