Meta Technical Art Manager, Metaverse Technical Art in Dover, Delaware

Summary:

As part of the Metaverse Technical Art leadership, you will coordinate and drive the technical art team responsible for building and supporting the systems that enable our Content Economy. In this role, you will establish strong executive relationships and partnerships across multiple internal cross-functional groups, including product, engineering, design, marketing, legal, and more. You will oversee the creation of high-quality content, scaling this system to support billions of users. Most importantly, you will continue to grow our multidisciplinary, eclectic, and distributed technical art team.

Required Skills:

Technical Art Manager, Metaverse Technical Art Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical art direction for avatar development, ensuring consistency, quality, and visual coherence across all digital assets.

  2. Manage and mentor a team of managers, technical leads, and technical artists, providing guidance, feedback, and coaching to ensure their growth and success.

  3. Working with the producers, oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of avatar-related projects, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and stakeholder satisfaction.

  4. Collaborate with the content economy leadership to develop strategies for creating, managing, and monetizing digital assets, including avatars, wearables, and other virtual goods.

  5. Drive the development of a modular content system that enables massive-scale content creation through both internal and external tooling

  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in technical art, and apply this knowledge to improve our workflows, tools, and pipelines.

  7. Work closely with engineering, design, product, and marketing teams to ensure seamless integration of avatars and digital assets into our products and services.

  8. Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure that all digital assets meet our high standards for visual quality, performance, and functionality.

  9. Manage budgets and resource allocation for avatar development and content economy initiatives, ensuring effective use of resources and ROI.

  10. Communicate technical art vision, plans, and progress to stakeholders, including executives, product managers, and external partners.

  11. Encourage innovation and experimentation within the team, exploring new technologies, techniques, and tools to stay ahead of the competition.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of experience leading creative work, overseeing creative and technical teams working in real-time, immersive 3D products, such as games, film, VR and AR products.

  2. 5+ years experience directly managing, coaching and developing full-time employees, including managing skip-reports.

  3. Experience with working on digital characters across more than one product type (feature animation, vfx, games, vr/ar, etc.)

  4. Experience making operational contributions at both strategic and tactical levels at a large organization.

  5. Experience driving changes in operational processes and aligning teams to a strategic vision by solving conflicts and misalignments.

  6. Demonstrated experience to recruit, nurture, and grow leaders.

  7. Experience presenting and pitching to executive leadership.

  8. Experience with budget allocation and financial/performance tracking

  9. Experience supporting ICs and other managers to produce a collaborative environment, where individuals bring in their best to produce results.

  1. Experience leading in a real-time product with character focus at a tech company.

  2. Experience starting a team from the ground up, and scaling it significantly.

  3. Experience working at a technology company, for an interactive, technical art-related product.

Public Compensation:

$181,000/year to $250,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
