The Role

A Lead Cloud Engineer drives technical excellence through cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code practices while ensuring high-quality deployments and adherence to architectural standards within their team. This hands-on technical leader combines deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with strong automation skills using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines, while continuously learning emerging technologies and mentoring team members in cloud best practices. The role requires collaborative problem-solving abilities to work effectively within cross-functional teams, strong attention to quality and security in cloud implementations, and a growth mindset to adapt to rapidly evolving cloud technologies while developing solutions that scale.

Location

This is a work from home position within the US.

The Main Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and implementation of cloud solutions across multiple projects

• Drive architectural decisions and best practices within project scope

• Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for cloud implementations

• Lead cloud migration initiatives and modernization efforts

• Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and reliability

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues

• Lead technical planning and estimation sessions

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Deep hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP core services

• Expert-level knowledge in at least two of the following: Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates, or Bicep

• Strong experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Advanced knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Ansible)

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, Java)

• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)

• Bachelors degree or equivalent education and 7+ years enterprise experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or Cloud Automation Engineer, with demonstrated expertise in system architecture, operations, and application administration & design.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges :

$103,711 - $138,281 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.

$108,896 - $145,195 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.

$114,082 - $152,109 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
