Job Summary:

The Vice President, Finance,isakeymember of the Cooperative’s Strategic Leadership Team, responsible forensuringthe Accounting, Finance, and Member Revenue & Equityfunctionsalign with and support the Strategic direction ofthe Cooperative and its broadband subsidiary. This position is responsible fordeveloping, analyzing, and interpretingfinancial,statistical,and accountingdatatoevaluateoperating results,profitability,budgetperformance, and other matters bearing on the fiscalsoundness and operating effectiveness of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Actively participates with the Senior Leadership Team to develop, refine, and implement the strategic plan while ensuring that the budget, staff, and priorities align with the company’s core mission.
  2. Provides inspirational leadership and direction; ensures the continued development and management of a professional and efficient organization via mentoring, coaching, and training, and promotes a culture that reflects the company’s values, encourages superior performance, and rewards productivity.
  3. Ensures compliance with financial requirements of regulatory agencies and others to which the company is committed by agreement or contract.
  4. Provides oversight of all financial services, member billing, capital credits, collections, activities; manages the day-to-day operations, and ensures a smoothly functioning, efficient organization.
  5. Establishes major financial objectives and policies for the company; uses financial modeling, benchmarking, and statistical tools to evaluate various business options and prepare reports that outline the company’s financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.
  6. Coordinates the development of long-range financial requirements for loan purposes, as well as internal purposes, and prepares loan applications for capital financing as directed.
  7. Coordinates and compiles the annual corporate budget; provides meaningful monthly reports to the CFO and Executive Leadership Team comparing actual results to both expense and capital budgets.
  8. Assists in development and analysis of retail rates and cost of service studies to ensure competitiveness and contribution to margin; assists in the financial evaluation of various power supply options and participates in negotiations as requested.
  9. Ensures that proper controls and procedures are in place to render timely and accurate bills including appropriate billing rates, adjustments, and penalties.
  10. Reviews insurance coverage and ensures company assets are adequately protected.
  11. Reviews and approves applications for deceased patron’s return of capital credits and oversees capital credit records and retirements.
  12. Represents the company in civic and professional associationspromoting positive relationships and strong partnerships for the benefit of the organization.
  13. Performs other duties and projects as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or another field of study relative to the activities of the Financial Services Division required.
  • CPA, CFA, or CMArequired.
  • Ten years of experience in the electric utility field required.
  • Proven experience in financial modeling, benchmarking, and statistical tools to evaluate various business options and track key ratio trends.
  • Experience in compiling corporate annual Budget and Financial Forecasts.
  • Experience in developing long-range financial requirements for loan purposes and in preparing loan applications for capital financing.
  • Requires a valid Georgia driver's license.
  • Satisfactorily pass GreyStone's pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, criminal and credit background check.

Talking, sitting, seeing, hearing, and typing. This job is typicallyperformed in an office environment. Some out-of-town meeting attendancerequired. Potentially stressful environment requiring considerablemulti-tasking. Available to work during irregular work hours for meetings,community activities, or during emergency situations.
