IOWA COUNTY Patrol Deputy in DODGEVILLE, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Iowa County Sheriff\'s Office is seeking applications for a full-time Patrol Deputy position. This position enforces Federal, State and local laws regarding traffic and criminal incidents. Employees will be expected to work varied hours, weekends and holidays and are expected to work overtime. Enforce all Federal, State and local laws regarding traffic and criminal incidents in the Patrol Division of the Office. -Responsible for detecting and preventing crime and enforcing State and Local Laws and/or Ordinances. -Makes arrests and patrol in assigned areas. -May be assigned to transfer persons and/or materials as warranted. -Investigates and collects evidence at all traffic and criminal incidents such as burglary, theft, bodily harm, bad checks, fraud, vandalism, labor disputes, drugs and family disputes, etc -Reports to scene of accidents, renders first aid as appropriate, and investigates causes and results of accident. -Makes necessary court appearances, making appropriate preparation as necessary, including court testimony. -Issues citations to traffic violators. -Serves Civil Process papers, including Summons, Warrants, and Court Orders. -Renders assistance to motorists and citizens which may include rendering First Aid. -Assists local Police Departments as warranted. -Provides appropriate assistance in the transporting of medical injury cases, medical supplies, public officials, voter ballots, mentally ill and criminal subjects and security checks. -Directs and controls traffic at public events, fires and other disruptions. -Conducts prisoner searches. -Attends training as assigned or mandated. -Maintains regular and predictable attendance. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications include but are not limited to: 21 years of age or older, high school diploma or G.E.D., 2 year Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School or must meet State requirements of having accumulated 60 credit hours within a period of five (5) years from date of employment from a college or university in Police Science, Criminal justice or related field, and have no convictions of any Federal Felony or an offense which if committed in Wisconsin could be punished as a felony unless the applicant has been granted an absolute and unconditional pardon. Selection process will also include oral interviews, psychological examination, and extensive background check. Applicants must be certified or certifiable, and must provide written documentation as evidence with application. Starting pay is \$25.25/hr. with a generous comprehensive benefit package.
