Rock Family of Companies Team Leader, Security Operations Center - 2nd Shift in Detroit, Michigan

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in a security operations center

  • Experience mentoring or leading

  • Demonstrate an advanced skill with the use of computers and software, such as email, databases, spreadsheets, web-based applications and Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in a security operations center or intelligence center, or police, fire or military service

  • 2 years of leadership experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field

  • Certifications in physical security, investigative techniques, Certified SOC Analyst (CSA), GIAC Security Operations Certified (GSOC), or related programs

  • Formal investigative interview training and proven experience with investigative interviewing techniques

  • Experience processing various information and technical security programs

Job Summary

As the Team Leader, Security Operations Center, you'll oversee business area operations and lead the Security Operations Command Center team by establishing policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure proficiency and alignment.

Responsibilities:

  • Delegate and engage in work that comes in through the team email, phone and alarm queue

  • Lead by providing support, demonstrations, hands-on training and guidance to team members

  • Oversee business area operations and provide structured guidelines, policy, procedures, compliance expectations and process improvements

  • Maintain scheduling to ensure that designated shift is adequately staffed

  • Review and submit assigned team members time for payroll

  • Effectively handle disciplinary actions and ensure accountability

  • Conduct 1:1 meetings with team members

  • Make effective and well-informed decisions by gathering available data and resources

  • Support team members through involvement in their training, professional development, administrative needs, team relations, team building exercises and work delegation

  • Oversee team production from an accountability standpoint and ensure deadlines are meant

  • Extensive knowledge of company communication standards and the ability to properly review and edit communications generated by the team

  • Oversee the gathering of research and information that has the potential to threaten Rock Holdings Inc. personnel, physical assets, image, reputation or other stakeholders and communicate relevant and important intelligence to leaders and appropriate stakeholders

  • Review and edit team communications and documents sent to leadership

  • Collaborate with partnering teams, leaders, clients, tenants, and relevant business areas to share information and accomplish smooth and effective results
