*JOB SUMMARY: *Responsible for sourcing and screening candidates for employment opportunities based on the employer specifications of the Business Services team. The Talent Sourcing Specialist will collaborate with Career Coaches to find and place qualified candidates for those jobs. TSS also supports the TSS/ES team with identifying transitional employment partners and matching participants to Temporary Work Experiences (TWE).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work with Business Services and Employment Specialist teams to help maintain relationships with employers to generate job opportunities for the job-seeker base.
  2. Collects and maintains employer agreements to become Temporary Work Experience Host Sites.
  3. Develops and cultivates employer relationships and promotes the program to local employers in need of permanent and Temporary Work Experience (TWE) candidates or permanent staff.
  4. Coordinates with the Career Coaches to determine job match, referral process, TWE opportunities and employment services.
  5. Market job opportunities to jobseekers through one-on-one meetings and planning on-site recruitment events.
  6. Screen candidates for job interviews and make appropriate referrals to employers.
  7. Make ongoing follow-up calls and/or site visits (if applicable) with jobseekers and employers to determine employment status and satisfaction with services delivered.
  8. Advise candidates on how to prepare for interviews and routinely conduct mock interviews.
  9. Schedule monthly Job Club sessions to aid groups of participants in job search process.
  10. Meet monthly placement targets and compile reports that track activities and outcomes.
  11. Responds promptly and professionally to job seekers and employer customers.
  12. Manages and updates the database of job development leads and case notes in Launchpad (and OSMIS as required).
  13. Conducts monthly follow-up for all participants in caseload post hiring to ensure job retention.
  14. Maintains a current understanding of economic and employment trends and emerging career opportunities.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

BA or BS degree or equivalent education and experience in workforce development programs.

Two to three years of experience in recruiting, sales, job development, or account management.

Successful experience in meeting goals in a high-volume sales environment preferred.

Ability to thrive in a performance-driven business setting and consistently meet goals.

Demonstrates in-depth understanding of the unique challenges and barriers faced by the justice involved residents of the City of Detroit and Wayne County.

Demonstrated successful experience presenting in front of large groups.

Superior communication skills in writing and orally.

Familiarity with Human Centered Design principles, including Motivational Interviewing.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a team.

Strong organizational skills.

Exceptional sales skills with a demonstrated ability to generate leads, close deals and deliver results.
