Essential functions (job duties):

The Center for Behavioral Health and Justice (CBHJ) is seeking a Project Coordinator to support its new training initiative. The Project Coordinator will work closely with external partners and CBHJ team members and directors to ensure successful training and development of team members. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys navigating systems, and is a natural at building relationships. Knowledge of criminal/legal and behavioral health systems and a passion for programming that supports justice-involved individuals is preferred.

Serve as primary liaison with state and county partners and maintain positive collaborative relationships among all involved partners and systems including law enforcement, jails, courts, dispatch, community mental health, emergency medical services, behavioral health providers, etc.

Implement timely and ongoing access to essential training and tools to support the work of the CBHJ including behavioral health and criminal legal fundamentals, technical assistance, evaluation design, process mapping, and data collection methods.

Apply critical thinking in completing tasks such as needs assessments, identifying appropriate programs and interventions, and developing implementation plans.

Work with partners and the CBHJ team to establish formal meeting schedule, determine attendees, and revise as needed; facilitate meetings, using innovative techniques for maximum participation.

Work closely with Project Manager and other Project Coordinators to ensure efficiency in performing duties and fidelity of processes and practices.

Coordinate and balance goals and objectives of project with needs, abilities, and priorities of community partners and the CBHJ.

Work with PI, Directors, Data Teams, and Project Manager to report finding to community partners and assist in interpreting data and determining next steps.

Provide support in writing reports and manuscripts, developing presentations, and creating other materials as needed.

Must have transportation for meetings in communities across the state.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or Master of Social Work or related master’s degree in related field including Public Health or Criminal Justice preferred.

Experience working in behavioral health and/or criminal/legal systems preferred.

Experience interfacing with project partners including courts, behavioral health, substance use, criminal/legal, jails, probation/parole, and/or law enforcement agencies.

Experience implementing new programs or interventions preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving, and inter-personal skills.

Ability to conceptualize and map processes within a system or agency to illustrate the flow of information or services and identify data collection points.

Self-motivated; ability to work remotely and independently.

Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, and OneDrive.

Preferred qualifications:

Located in metro Detroit area. Interest in coordinating projects, in addition to training and development activities. Experience facilitating, supporting, and recording meetings and trainings.
