Observation – I1
The 38-bed Observation Unit is an outpatient unit specializing in a wide range of conditions, including chest pain, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, precordial pain, syncope and collapse, hypertensive heart disease and chronic kidney disease. This fast-paced environment has telemetry monitoring and houses patients who are typically on the unit less than 24 hours.
Nurses are given the opportunity to help support and care for patients of various ages and backgrounds. All nursing staff are trained in advanced cardiac life support and collaborate with employees from several different departments including, social workers, case management, nurse assistants and unit secretaries. The unit has nurse practitioners and physicians who work collaboratively with the nursing staff to meet the patient’s needs. The staff is kept on their toes as this unit has an expedited, protocol-driven approach to patient care to provide the best treatment in a timely manner.
Position: 36 hours per week
Shift: Midnight shift 7p to 7:30a
Every other weekend and rotating holidays

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
BSN preferred
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Current Michigan RN license
Previous inpatient experience is preferred
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel
High level of customer service skills
