Essential functions (job duties):
Essential Functions:
Point of contact for community based project studies. Recruit program participants. Communicate directly with potential participants and ensure they fully understand the criteria, exclusions and confidentiality of the study. Use questionnaires to screen potential participants for qualifiers and barriers to study participation. Consult with the Principle Investigator regarding participant selection and enrollment, as required. Obtain written informed consent. Maintain communications with participants throughout the study. Send participation reminders and updates. Track and monitor related data. Notify Principal Investigator of any enrollment and/or participant issues.
Compile and provide data to Principal Investigator. Develop and maintain data collection spreadsheets and other research study related documents as needed. May be required to check the validity and accuracy of data ensuring compliance with quality control requirements and study relevance. May assist in analyzing research study data. May be required to develop and prepare detailed statistical and administrative reports and compile data for grant and/ or Institutional Review Board (IRB) document preparation and/or completion.
Establish a network of collaborations with various community establishments for assistance in obtaining recruitment of study participants and to provide a resource for participants who may need service referrals.
Provide office support as needed. Respond to requests and questions from participants, institutions, government agencies, and funding agencies. Complete related documents and forms. Schedule and participate in meetings. Participate in special projects and assignments.
Assist in developing recruitment advertisements to attract study participants from local organizations including the use of social media. Develop related materials and resources.
Create print materials including study brochures, study logo, online/paper flyers etc., as necessary. Create and/or update study website.
Assist Principle Investigator with distributing educational and study resources to participants. Communicate or present study results to facilities that contributed to the study.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Unique duties:
Submission of regulatory documents and IRB approval for clinical trial research studies. Maintain accurate and comprehensive regulatory documents for studies. Assist with community outreach efforts to spread awareness of clinical trials available and increase participant volume. Organize and facilitate meetings related to research coordination. Provide administrative support to research team including scheduling, managing correspondence, participant and recruitment follow-up. Serve as point of contact for participant questions and concerns. Enter required data into Oncore system and other software as required by clinical trial sponsors. Assist with compiling key metrics to evaluate productivity and successes. Perform other related duties as assigned by site manager.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree
Candidates with equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience: Entry level. 0 – 2 years of experience.
Prior related experience, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently. Ability to collaborate and work as a team member. Effective oral and written communication skills. Analytical skills. Detail oriented, with strong organizational skills. Working knowledge of social media. Ability to interact with participants and discuss sensitive topics while maintaining confidentiality. Good time management skills, as time may be split across multiple research studies. Ability to work in a community, clinic and lab settings. Must be skilled in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and research support software.
Preferred qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college of university with a degree in accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Minimum of 5 years’ experience preferably with an understanding of clinical and basic research. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice for research. Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to communicate effectively with the community, faculty, staff, sponsors, and students. Effectively present information verbally or in writing, for individuals, small or large groups, with strong proof-reading skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines. Completes projects and tasks on time. Able to shift priorities and multi-task on various projects, accurately scope out length and difficulty of tasks and projects, realistically estimate time and resource requirements on projects. Demonstrated attention to detail with ability to apply analytical and logical thinking to the process of gathering and analyzing information. Able to propose and evaluate alternative solutions to achieve organizational goals. Possess awareness of multicultural issues and principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism; serve and engage others in a diverse, multicultural environment. Ability to learn and adapt to using new and changing digital technology platforms and online resources.
