Henry Ford Health System Lead Pharmacy Technician Inpatient - Full Time - Afternoon Shift - Detroit in Detroit, Michigan

* $5,000 Sign-on BONUS*

Schedule:Afternoons 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Lead assigned staff in performing activities or tasks in pharmacy services. Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance across pharmacies and to clinical leadership.

  • Lead or coordinate shift operations of assigned activities, resources, and/or associates.

  • Serve as a technical or functional resource and perform similar duties as associates they lead.

  • Assign, monitor and review progress of work. Monitor and report compliance with policies and/or procedures. May resolve scheduling issues.

  • Oversee daily activities of the pharmacy technicians under the direction of the pharmacists and management.

  • Assist with specialty projects and tasks as assigned by Pharmacy management. Participate in problem solving within the department.

  • Provide input into hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

    CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • One or more of the following required:

  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Michigan Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

  • Eligible candidates have 4 or more years of experience or completed a bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Candidate to have experience in inpatient experience or equivalent experience in retail leading a team.

  • Willing to get certified in sterile compounding preparations.
